Bio

Geena Jackson is a proud member of the Sechelt Nation. With a degree in Broadcast Journalism and Communications Geena works tirelessly on her vision to support First Nations Individuals ready to take a chance on Entrepreneurship and access the life changing opportunities. Geena is a powerful ally to Aboriginal entrepreneurs connecting them with a multitude of resources, partnerships, contracts and opportunities.

 

Geena has been working with the Squamish Nation as the Squamish Nation Trust Project Administrator for the past 8 years; for the last 4 years she has also held the position of Squamish Nation Small Business Officer. In these roles, she has assisted over 280 Squamish Nation Members with achieving funding for their small businesses. This includes the initial brainstorming to the creation of business plans, cash flows, financial projections, marketing, aftercare and accessing additional capital from organizations such as TACC, the Business Equity Program and the New Relationship Trust.

 

Geena continues to enhance her well rounded skill-set and support of First Nations entrepreneurs. Some of the initiatives she is involved in include assisting with the facilitation of the Aboriginal B.E.S.T. program and Activ8’s marketing and media training for First Nation businesses.
