At Golden Eagle, we recognize that in order to effect our mandate, we must first address the underlying factors contributing to the loss of Indigenous lives. With family and/or community approval and support Golden Eagle will use its resources to explore the circumstances surrounding the untimely deaths of Indigenous people. Once information is gathered and analyzed, Golden Eagle will recommend steps that could have been taken to prevent the loss of life. We will use the findings to develop action plans which will prevent similar losses. The plans could include public awareness campaigns; the development of prevention initiatives; improvements on, or support of, existing initiatives; direct action; or a combination of any of these.
