Bio

Tanya Corbet is a Member of the Tsawwassen First Nation (TFN).  She is extremely passionate about her community, and about building a strong and sustainable future for the next generation. Tanya was born, raised, and currently resides on Tsawwassen Lands with her family, including 15 year old daughter Isabella and 11 year old son James.

Tanya has recently been elected to her first term on TFN's Executive Council.   She has worked for the TFN Government for 17 years, including a key role with the Treaty Department during the negotiation and implementation of BC's first urban Treaty. Her role in the TFN Government encompassed media relations, government relations, and all aspects of internal and external communications.

Tanya supports her community and volunteers her time to enhance community projects and organizations.     She is a member of the Delta Hospital Foundation Golf Tournament Committee.  She is former Vice Chair to the Kwantlen Polytechnic University Board of Governors and  Director of the Reach Foundation - a local organization that supports families who have children with special needs. She holds a Public Relations Associate Certificate from BCIT and studied at the University of Northern BC.
