Today Golden Eagle accepted its very first run of a dozen Coast Salish looms and is readying to begin its inaugural distribution to Coast Salish communities.

This initiative is aimed at reinvigorating Salish weaving among our coastal people where this practice is about much more than the creation of textiles.  "The work within these tapestries is a means of conveying our histories, culture, and laws" says Shain Jackson, Director at Golden Eagle and President of Spirit Works Limited.  "It is about passing down of tradition and teachings instrumental to maintaining and developing who we are."

Within its "Weaving for Life" initiative Golden Eagle's goal is to bring weaving back to the forefront of every Coastal community wanting to revitalize this art form.
